Its about that time

I'm a fat guy, so Its fairly simple to assume a couple things. First, I like to eat. Second I don't like to go to the gym and last but certainly not least I have tried a lot of "diets." This last summer I was doing 10-13 mile bike rides 1-3 times a week and eating less because I was home less often. I have hit my highest weight in my life this month and that is unacceptable to me. I have always been a heavy guy, but I rarely let that get in the way of what I wanted to do. However as I've hit the weight I have I find I am limiting what I do based on my size and that is also very unacceptable. I don't care if I way 600 pounds so long as I never have to say "I cant I'm to fat," or "I wont fit so I cant do that." So here are the changes that WILL take place for the next 6-12 months.
1. I'm going to exercise 3-4 times a week on a bike at home, bike on the street or on the elliptical at the rec center by my house. I will also be doing a day a week of lifting weights (most likely Fridays) to mix it up a little.

2. No more T.V. unless I'm exercising, or cleaning the house. When Chelsea and I got married we didn't hook the TV up to anything but a DVD player. We now have netflix and I'm finding I get home from work open a beer and veg out. Which brings me to my next point.

3. No more beer! At least on the week days. I have 1-2 beers a day, except Thursday when I'm on call. Each beer has 120-150 calories! if I have 3 beers I've had a meal! So, with the exception of Friday and Saturday, no more beer for the beer lover Scott...

Speaking of calories, I found out that my favorite fast food hamburger has 970 calories not counting the fries! The double western cheese burger from Carl's Jr is my favorite fast food burger, but it is 2/5 my daily intake. So..

4. If it has a drive through, I must drive by.. I am not going to eat at fast food restaurants until summer and when summer comes along it will still only be on a rare occasion. You may get $1 food there but your also only getting $1 nutrition. Along with fast food I'm cutting out soda. I'm going to stick with my sugar free juice and my unsweetened teas.

5. I'm going to eat smaller amounts. No more buffets, or all you can eats, no more giant plates of pasta. I'm going to eat NORMAL. Just because it's good doesn't mean that I need a LOT of it and just becuase I paid $9.99 for a buffet doesn't mean I need to "get my money's worth."

This is my plan and I'm sticking to it!
